About Bada Hanuman Mandir Amritsar

Shree Bada Hanuman Mandir is a Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Hanuman and is located in the center of Amritsar. The statue of Lord Hanuman resting may be found in this Mandir. It is located at the Durgiana Temple's North-western Corner.

Hindus attach great importance to this location since the scriptures state that Lord Rama performed his Ashwamedha Ceremony here.

After the Ashwamegh Yagya, the horse is thought to have been taken by Luv and Kush. Luv and Kush, twin sons of Lord Rama, tied Hanuman to the tree when he moved forward to free the horse. The temple is constructed on the same site.

You will hear continuous chants of Lord Rama and Lord Hanuman within the temple premises.

The Langoor dance, which the followers of the temple conduct to honor the powerful monkey God, is a common sight. Numerous worshippers arrive here each year dressed as Langoors. In Amritsar, the occasion is also referred to as Langoor Mela.
