One such soulful gurudwara is Sri Pipli Sahib Amritsar.
About Gurudwara Sri Pipli Sahib Amritsar
Gurudwara Pipli Sahib is close to Khalsa College of Putlighar. A large Pipal tree that originally stood here inspired the name Gurdwara Pipli Sahib. The Gurdwara, built in the early 20th century, was rebuilt in the 1930s.
It is connected by a 150-meter road to the main Sher Shah Suri Marg in the vicinity of Putlighar.
Many devotees are thought to have left Kabul for Amritsar as soon as they learned of Guru Arjan Dev Ji's enthronement. After their exhausting voyage from Kabul, followers of Guru Arjan Dev Ji stayed at the location where Pipli Sahib, a revered memorial, was constructed.
Along with the Guru Arjan Dev Ji, Mata Ganga, the Guru's wife, provided meals and drinks to the Sangat at this place.
The Sangat had just learned who these generous Sewadars were when they arrived at Sri Harmandir Sahib the next day. The Sangat was shocked and astonished to see that Guru Sahib and his wife had been attending to them personally.
On Basant Panchmi, this Gurudwara celebrates its biggest celebration, mostly in January-February. In addition to this major celebration, the Gurudwara hosts several daily events.
This is undoubtedly one of the many respected gurudwaras you can visit in Amritsar. This is where we should reflect on the past and the people's affection for their gurus.
