On a land measuring around three hectares, the Punjab State War Heroes Memorial and Museum is situated on the outskirts of Amritsar, the holiest city in India.

The Punjab State War Heroes Memorial & Museum, which cost Rs 130 crore to construct, was opened in October 2016 by Parkash Singh Badal, the province's chief minister.

#Trivia: It was created by the New Delhi-based Indian architectural firm Kapoor and Associates.

It features a cutting-edge gallery where visitors can view Punjab's martial history and military campaigns. It was constructed using both traditional and modern architectural styles.

The central edifice of the stunning project is a 45 m high stainless steel sword that symbolises the power and bravery of the Punjabi people in defending their country during a time of need.

This famous building occupies a spherical platform encircled by water. On the memorial, erected at the height of 4 metres, you will find the names of around 3500 martyrs.

The sacrifices and brave acts from the time of the sixth Guru through the Kargil operations are shown in approximately 8 galleries. You can also see stunning visuals of the retired MiG-23 aircraft carrier ship, the INS Vikrant, and three tanks.

Nanakshahi bricks were used in the construction of the memorial's perimeter wall. Three different combat zones from the pre-British, British, and post-independent eras are reflected in the landscape.

As part of the tribute, it has a unique light and sound show. It boasts a 7D auditorium that allows visitors to experience various battle zones virtually.
