History of the Baba Atal Rai Sahib Ji Gurudwara
On a bad night, Mohan, a playmate of Atal Rai, was bitten by a snake. When Baba Atal Rai arrived at Mohan's house hoping to play, he discovered the family sobbing over the untimely tragedy.
When Baba Atal approached his acquaintance, he said: "Why, my dear friend, do you sleep so soundly? Remember that it is not time to go to bed and that you owe us the forfeit ", using the stick he had brought to play, he touched Mohan.
The news that he had brought Mohan back to life quickly spread throughout the city. Guru Har Gobind was not pleased, stating that one should not interfere with God's will.
The warning was taken seriously by Atal Rai, who recited the Japji on the banks of the Kaulsar after washing up in the Sarovar. He lay down and unexpectedly died with the same stick beneath his head.
Entry fee and timing to the Gurudwara
The Gurudwara does not charge an entrance fee. Everyone is welcome to come and seek the blessings of the Guru. Gurudwara Baba Atal Rai Sahib Ji opens in the morning at around 7:30 and closes in the evening at the same time.
